Behind the Challenge

For all who know me, I always talk about how I'm going to do something, but then never get it done, whether it is because of time, money, forgetting about it, or its just plain crazy. For example, no matter how long anyone has known me, guarantee they've heard me talking about moving to California. I have been talking about it for over 6 years and yet, for some reason, I'm still in Massachusetts. Don't get me wrong, I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason that in these past 6 years the people I've met and the experiences I've had have made me the person I am today and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Earlier this year, my brother, his girlfriend (also one of my besties), and I were heading up to New Hampshire to go skiing. On the way up we started talking about things we wanted to do this year, and I decided I wanted to make a list of 110 things to do in 2010. Yes, that's completely crazy, trying to think of 101 things to do in 1001 days was hard enough never mind getting them all done in 1 year. Well needless to say, I never started writing anything down or even thinking about actually doing anything until I saw my friend Amy's post about the challenge she had started through
www.dayzeroproject.com and I was inspired. Now if you notice, moving to California is not on my list, because since that has been the one thing I wanted to do for so long, I figure I can wait a little longer because I've been saying it for years, no one will believe me anyway. Eventually I'll make it out there, but for now I'm going to concentrate on my list first, give myself some new goals for a while.

The challenge is literally as it says 101 things to do in 1001 days, its a unique challenge that inspires you to set and achieve your personal goals in life. I have made a list of all of them on the right hand side of this page, in no particular order. As you can see some of them are harder than others, some a little crazy but they are all something I've wanted to do, or do again. For example, I've been to a gun range before, but I'd actually like to go again and learn how to shoot better and hit the target, preferably hit the bullseye. Some I had some help with, like cheating and getting ideas from friends and other lists, or bucket lists. The challenge for me begins today and I plan on accomplishing each one of my goals by January 15, 2013. I will be continually posting my daily picture and everything I have accomplished.

Please let me know if there is anything you'd like to help out with, or join me in crossing off my list, I'd love all thoughts and comments about my progress, and I hope to inspire someone else to start there own list! Who doesn't love a challenge?!

Wish me luck!
